Holiday and Christmas Crafts For Seniors!
Holiday and Christmas Crafts!
CD Suncatcher
Glue two old cd's together with christmas ribbon or beaded thread running through the middle, then using glue that dries clear add a ring of small flat beads around the outside. You can make this as simple or difficult as you wish. Hang on a tree or by a window and watch it sparkle! This does not have to be only a christmas suncatcher. It works well throughout the year.
Little Sock Snowmen
Dye some tube socks with tea. Once the socks are dry, put rice, popcorn or beans into the toe of the sock, the approximate size of a softball. Then fasten it closed just above the rice with a rubber band. Trim the sock exess off just above the rubber band.
Taking a piece of felt (8x11) glue the short sides together making this a tube and put another rubber band about half way down the felt, this will make the snowman's hat. Using scissors, cut the one end of the felt into strips down to the rubber band, making tassles. Roll the other end of the felt up making a brim for the hat and then glue this onto the snowman head you made with rice in the sock. Decorate the face with paints or buttons (be creative) and have fun with your cute little snowmen!Candy Cane Rudolph
Using a candy cane, glue on wiggly eyes and a small red pompom on the hook. Using a brown pipe cleaner, tie it around the top of the hook and make antlers. Very cute.

Christmas Felt DoorHanger
Cut out a heavy weight cardstock paper into a 10x5 rectangle. Cut a 3 inch circle in the top. Do the same thing with felt but make allowance for sewing by adding a fraction. Cover your cardstock with the felt and stitch around the edges. Or you could glue this felt on and cover the glued edges with ribbon, glitter paints or cord. Once your door hanger is covered you can embellish with ribbons and ornaments.Christmas Ornament
With inexpensive christmas cookie cutters from a dollar store, you can make some pretty cute ornaments with this idea.Trace out the cookie cutter shape onto a wrapping paper of some pretty christmas design. Then cut out the shape a little larger than the actual shape you traced. Glue it to the cookie cutter, using the extra portion to glue it on. Then you can embellish this further with ribbon or glitter. Tie on a some string and hang it on the tree!

Christmas Fruit and Tie Garland
Easy to make especially if you have a dehydrator.Items needed:
